The Meal Planning Linky – 1st June 2018

I know we all need a bit of inspiration and motivation when it comes to meal planning. That’s why we’ve launched The Meal Planning Linky. We’ll share our posts about meal planning, and you can link yours up too. Seeing others’ meal plans – and sharing our own – not only keeps us accountable but also will inspire us.

Our Meal Plans for the Week Ahead

Last week, we stuck to the meal plan pretty well. Tim was away for a few days with work so the chilli I cooked on the Tuesday was really useful – we had it with rice once,  jacket potatoes once and nachos as planned. Despite planning pizza for Wednesday lunch time and thinking the boys would only need a sandwich for dinner, they were both really hungry after an afternoon of playing outside so I was glad the chilli stretched!

It’s back to work for me this week, but Ben has Inset days on Monday and Tuesday, so he’s going to stay with his grandparents for a couple of days. Inset days are really tricky for me as a parent and a teacher, as I can’t take any time off and Tim can’t either this week. So I’m really glad the grandparents have come to the rescue!

I’m trying the Healthy Mummy system this week. This is a meal planning and fitness app – they have a £1 trial for 28 days and then it is a bit more. The app so far is really easy to use but the meals don’t look terribly substantial! I’ll let you know how I get on.

Saturday: Ben and I are off to the Big Church Day Out North for the day. We’ll have burgers from a van or something similar and take some sandwiches.

Sunday: Likely to be just Samuel and I as Tim will be taking Ben to his grandparents. We’ll have omelettes or fish fingers – something easy.

Monday: Steak and salad stuffed pittas

Tuesday: Sausage and veggie pasta bake

Wednesday: Sweet and sour chicken and veggie skewers with rice

Thursday: Fish pot pie

Friday: Honey chicken with stir fry vegetables

  • Oooh, the veggie skewers sound nice. My partner would like the steak pittas too. I’m being healthy too but not using an app. I am not cutting calories, just fat and sugar.

  • Hi – the linkup app wouldn’t let me add my link to your post as I got a message saying I’d already added (which I had to Katy’s)….! I love a good meal plan and first started creating one when I went to Uni 30 years ago (yes I was popular with my room mates!). It comes as second nature to me now and on the rare occasion when I don’t have one I feel lost when I go grocery shopping!
