The Meal Planning Linky – 6th July

Welcome to Week 27 of The Meal Planning Linky. This is a linky hosted by Naomi at The Organised Life Project and Katy at KatykickerAnyone is welcome to join – just check out the rules below.

I know we all need a bit of inspiration and motivation when it comes to meal planning. That’s why we’ve launched The Meal Planning Linky. We’ll share our posts about meal planning, and you can link yours up too. Seeing others’ meal plans – and sharing our own – not only keeps us accountable but also will inspire us.

Our Meal Plans for the Week Ahead

Last week, we didn’t really stick to our meal plan. Our meals generally had a nod to the football matches that were being played, but last week I shopped at Aldi rather than doing an Asda online shop. I might have come in under budget but I had to do a second supermarket run to get the things I hadn’t got on the first trip so I don’t really know if it’s worth it. I also haven’t been particularly impressed with Aldi’s fresh fruit and vegetables. This all had a knock-on effect on our meal plans, so Colombian Empanadas were sacrificed for salmon and stir fry last week, and our steak with chimichirri is still on the menu this week!

This week

Saturday: We’re visiting Tim’s sister so a night off meal planning for me.

Sunday: Rest day for the football, but as we missed Brazilian Steak with Chimichirri last week, we’ll have that.

Monday: Another World Cup rest day. We haven’t had pasta for ages so I think I’ll do Tuna Pasta Salad. I’ll do extra for lunches as well.

Tuesday: I’m going to guess that France might be playing (France vs. Brazil?) so I’m going to plan for chicken with this French bean and tomato salad.

Wednesday: If England beat Sweden on Saturday, they will be playing today. We’ll be having a very English dinner of lamb chops, new potatoes and summer vegetables.

Thursday: A rest day! We’ve had very few vegetarian meals so I’m going to try this Tomato and Feta Galette.

Friday: Another rest day. If the heat wave continues, I think we’ll have a barbecue or fire up the pizza oven – we have to make the most of it!

  • I’m glad you’ve got rest days in your Meal Plan, it’s certainly too hot to faff about too much. It’s also nearing the end of the school year and everyone is exhausted. So many school events on over the next couple of weeks so I’ve planned easy dinners to fit around them all. Hope you have a fab week 🙂
